Winnie Bond, 101, of Canadian Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home January 21, 2026.
Born on October 4, 1924, in Cleveland, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Arthur E. Guiling and Maudie J. (Polk) Guiling. She grew up in Prague, Oklahoma, where she built the strong faith and work ethic that guided her throughout her life.
On October 2, 1940, she married Nolan Ray Bond, and together they shared 41 years of marriage and raised three children. The family lived in Texas and California before settling in Oklahoma in 1955. They made their home in the Edmond and Shawnee–Tecumseh areas, where she remained for many years.
She devoted most of her life to caring for her family as a homemaker, while also working outside the home when needed. She was employed for a time at the Sylvania Plant in Shawnee and later worked in the nurseries at the Nazarene Church in Shawnee and First Assembly of God in Tecumseh, where she lovingly served for over 20 years. She also delivered Meals on Wheels in Tecumseh well into her 90s, a reflection of her servant’s heart and dedication to helping others.
In her later years, she moved to Canadian, Oklahoma, to live with her daughter and son-in-law in 2019, where she resided until her passing on January 21, 2026. She was surrounded by family at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nolan Ray Bond; her parents; nine sisters; one brother; and one son and son-in law, Orvis Ray Bond and Bobby Lee Carter
Those left to cherish her memory; daughters, Wynona Sue Carter, Jane and Gene Rosamond; grandchildren, Kimberly and Joe Shepherd, Stephen Ray Carter, Melissa and Kevin Isenhower, Christa and David Elmore, Melonie and Rico McKelvey, Sherri and Richard Clymer, Kevin and Alicia Rosamond, Randy Birchall and Dr. Laure DeMattia; nephews, Ken and Denise Vinson and Don and Kathy Vinson; 19 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren with 3 more due in 2026; countless extended family and friends.
