Wilma Rodgers Obituary

Wilma “Jean” (Jeffcoat) Rodgers, 91, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Tulsa Oklahoma.

She was born on August 12, 1934, in Alex, Oklahoma to W.J. (Wilkey) Jeffcoat and Nellie Mae (Dutton) Jeffcoat.

Jean attended elementary school in Alex, Oklahoma and graduated from Shawnee High School, Shawnee, Oklahoma.

On September 14, 1952, she married the love of her life, W. Norvell Rodgers, beginning a lifelong journey of faith, family, and devotion.

Jean was a faithful member of Sharon Baptist Church, where she loved serving her church family. She had a special talent for sewing and found great joy in creating for those she loved. Throughout her life, she worked diligently as a bookkeeper for Freedom Baptist Church in Porum, Oklahoma and also served as a meat inspector for the United States Department of Agriculture. Jean and her husband were FFA Boosters and active members of the Tecumseh Round-Up Club.  She loved spending time at Lake Eufaula, especially with grandchildren and was eager to get into the water even though she couldn’t swim! She was known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and unwavering faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents W.J. (Wilkey) Jeffcoat and Nellie Mae (Dutton) Jeffcoat and her beloved husband, W. Norvell Rodgers.

Jean is survived by her sons and their spouses, Jerry and Sheila Rodgers of Quinton, Oklahoma, and Craig and Terry Rodgers of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Stephanie and Nic Anderson of Quinton, Oklahoma, and Jennifer and Jeff Patton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandsons, Jerome and Amy Rodgers of Cypress, Texas, and Corey and Katy Rodgers of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Jimmie Prater of Checotah, Oklahoma and Danny and Traci Prater of Orange Beach California ; brother, Gearl and Louise Jeffcoat of Henryetta, Oklahoma; as well as 26 great-grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren; numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday February 18, 2026, continuing through service time with family gathering from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, with Pastor Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Tecumseh under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.

Jean’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication to her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
