Wilma Hickman Obituary

Wilma Hickman, 90, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 17, 2020. 

She was born March 16, 1930 to Ben and Falba (Stevens) Jacobs in Shawnee, Oklahoma. 

Wilma was raised in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School. 

She married Jack Hickman on May 4, 1948 in Haskell, Texas and they were married for 70 years.  He preceded her in death on March 11, 2019. 

Wilma was retired realtor and a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  

She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ for many years.  Wilma along with her husband Jack were very involved with the World Bibles for Christ for over 35 years. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Jack Hickman; grandson, Jacob Hickman; great-grandson, Samuel Christenson; her parents, Ben and Falba Jacobs; and 9 siblings. 

Those left to cherish her memory are 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Cecil and Brenda Hickman of Shawnee, OK and Tracy and Liz Hartzler of Redwood City, CA;  1 grandson, Eric and Mindy Hickman of Tecumseh, OK; 2 granddaughters, Kimberlee Hartzler-Weakley and husband Jason Weakley and Katie and Jack Christenson; great-grandchildren, Dax Hickman, Jackson Weakley, Addison Weakley, Gunnar Christenson, Annika Christenson, Anders Christenson, Alionna Hooper, Joseph Hooper and Josh Hooper; and many loving friends and extended family. 

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice and Staff for all their loving care and support and a special thank you to Roberta Richards for her unwavering love and care for Wilma. 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 22, 2020 and continue through service time.  Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Tecumseh Highland Church of Christ with Travis Pettyjohn officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Please join the celebration of Wilma‘s life through Cooper Funeral Home’s Facebook page for live streaming of the service.

The family has designated that donations be made to In Search of the Lord’s Way, P.O. Box 371, Edmond, OK  73083 as appropriate for memorials in lieu of flowers.
