William Franklin "Billy" Bennett, III

William Franklin “Billy” Bennett, III, 71, of Shawnee, OK passed from this life on Sunday, March 16, 2025.

Billy was born September 29, 1953 in Seminole, Oklahoma to William Franklin Bennett Jr. and Ruvenia (Heffley) Bennett.

Billy attended school in Maud, OK and Shawnee, OK.  He joined the United States Air Force and was security police and a firefighter.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Jonathan Bennett, Charles Bennet, and Terri Bennett; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Elaine Bennett Brock, Katerine Bennett Calvert and John Brock; two nephews, Jerol Crain and Levi Bennett.

Billy is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; his step-mother, Katherine Bennett of Clear Lake, CA; one son, William Franklin Bennett IV of Indianapolis, IN; one grandson, William Franklin Suesz of Greenwood, IN; two granddaughters, Alexandra Rose (Brian) of Anderson, IN, and Ashlely Wheeler of Kokomo, IN; five great-grandsons; two brothers, Alan Bennett (Cindy) of Ponca City, OK and Danny Bennett of St. Louis, OK; one sister and brother-in-lw, Shirley Bennett Henderson (Tony) of Tecumseh, OK; one brother-in-law, Ray Utter (Marci) of Shawnee, OK; one sister-in-law, Jo Pope (Larry) of Alamogordo, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Hopewell Cemetery in Bethel Acres.  Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
