William Boyd (Bill) Pope, of Macomb, Oklahoma passed from this life on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at his home.
He was born June 30, 1956, to Charlie Pope Sr. and Jayne (Hughes) Pope in Hartsville, Tennessee.
Bill grew up in Tennessee, Germany, Kansas, and Oklahoma with his military family. He has resided in Oklahoma since 1977.
He married Jeanne Marie (Johnson) Pope, September 12, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2001.
Bill worked in Shawnee for Higgins and Sons Trusses, and then worked at Wolverine until retiring.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and worked in the fields with his cows and donkeys. He had tamed his cows and donkeys to feed by hand, and loved maintaining his 80 acres of land.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Pope Sr.; wife, Jeanne Marie Pope; brothers, George Pryor, and Wayne Pope; grandparents, Nanny and Pa George Hughes.
His memory is survived by his mother, Jayne Pope of Tecumseh, OK; brother, Charlie Pope, Jr. and wife, Barbra of Tecumseh; sisters, Jeanniece Pope of Tecumseh, OK, Beverly and Chris Chandler of Yukon, OK and April and Patrick Boggs of Shawnee, OK; best friend, Al Turner; and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2020 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Mack Peercy officiating. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC and State of Oklahoma Regulations and Guidelines, groups of 50 or fewer will be limited to attended funerals, which includes church services as well as chapel services and graveside services with social distancing.
