Willa Marie (George) Oliver Obituary

Willa Marie (George) Oliver, 89, of Milford, Connecticut, formerly Bella Vista, AR, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2022. 

Willa was born June 17, 1932 to William Edward and Leora B. (Clark) George in Overton, Texas. 

She was raised in St. Louis, Oklahoma and attended St. Louis Public Schools.  She graduated from St. Louis High School.  She later attend Oklahoma Baptist University. 

Willa married Edward Barry Oliver on December 4, 1953 in St. Louis, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on January 2, 2014. 

She worked as her church secretary and also was a manager for Avon. 

Willa was a devout Christian women, church member, Sunday school teacher and outreach ministry worker.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir, was a frequent soloist and a member of the bell choir.  Willa made the best peanut butter balls and okra in town, loved to play card games (she was almost always the winner) and loved her sweet dog Peppy Fe. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Oliver; her parents, William and Leora George; 1 great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Gloria George-Evans and Sylvia George-Hicks. 

Those left to cherish her memory are 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Edward Barry Oliver, Jr. of Memphis, TN, William Stanley Oliver and Marina Skrbic-Oliver of Milford, CT, David Kody Oliver and S. René Garcia-Oliver of Bella Vista, AR and Roger Glen and Kelly Oliver of Texas; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Carolyn Sue George-Nix of Rhome, TX and Janie George-Disbury of Coconut Creek, FL; and other extended family and friends. 

Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery Gazebo in Shawnee, OK with family officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.  Please join the celebration of Willa's life through Cooper Funeral Home’s Facebook page for live streaming of the service.
