Virginia S. Bowie, 91, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 in Oklahoma City.
She was born February 28, 1930 to Alan and Beulah (Cook) Brooks in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Virginia was raised in Shawnee and attended school at Hazel Dell and Shawnee.
She married William D. “Bill” Bowie on February 5, 1946 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1999.
Virginia was owner and operator along with her husband of Mid State Waste Management. She also owned the Brown Derby Restaurant in Shawnee, AAA Sign Company, Country Auto Sales and Hobert Body Shop. She loved animals, especially her dogs and ponies.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Debora and Jerald Malone of Tecumseh, OK and Michelle and Anthony Elliott of Tulsa, OK; 2 sons, William D. “Bill” Jr. and Ronda Bowie of Tecumseh, OK and William “Keith” and Crystal Bowie of Tecumseh, OK; 19 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 30, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery in Shawnee with Reverend Larry Sparks officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
