Violet Faye Lemons, age 84 of Tecumseh, OK passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 in Midwest City, OK.
She was born June 15, 1934 to A. E. and Lola (Bell) Mullins.
Violet was born in Walters, OK and grew up in Choctaw. She lived most of her life in Midwest City, moving to Tecumseh in 1996 and has lived there since.
Violet is a 1952 Choctaw High School graduate. She was one of the first Majorette’s at Choctaw High School, was a Cheerleader and a drama star.
Violet worked for 30 years at Tinker Federal Credit Union as an Accounts Specialist, retiring from there in 1994.
She loved her grandchildren, being outdoors, crocheting, reading books, flowers and gardening. Violet enjoyed watching sporting events, especially OU and OKC Thunder with her oldest great grandson, Gage.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Jim Lemons, whom she remained lifelong friends with; and 1 son, Jimmy Lemons, Jr.
Violet is survived by a son, Tim Lemons of Tecumseh; daughter, Cyndiy Rector of Tecumseh; daughter-in-law, Jean Gordon; grandchildren, Jason, Ben and Andi, Rachael, Rebekah, Trevon, Heather, Tara, Brooke and Matt; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bill Mullins of Norman and Max Mullins of Choctaw; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends; and 2 lifelong friends, Mindy Florence and Betty Standridge.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, OK with Pastor Chad Thompson of Calvary Inola officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
