Velma Carr, 65, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, in Oklahoma City.
She was born November 5, 1956, to Linzy Lee Rivers and Letha Mae (Napoleon) Rivers in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Velma was raised in Hotulka, Oklahoma and graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1974.
She has been a resident of Tecumseh all her adult life.
On June 13, 1995, she married the love of her life Eddie Carr.
Velma worked as a seamstress at Shawnee Garment (later known as Roundhouse) for 42 years.
She was highly creative, and loved planting flowers, decorating, and cooking. She had a passion for fashion, and loved spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Linzy Lee Rivers, and Letha Mae (Napoleon) Rivers; 1 brother Leonard Lee Rivers; and 1 sister Veada Capas.
Those left to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Eddie Carr of the home. Children: Tenassa Carr, Robert Ervin, and Arsenio (Kelia) Carr. Grandchildren: Isaac Ervin and Brayden Nelson. A loving sister Vanessa Alexander, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2022 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Sharon Baptist Church with Elder Grayson and Pastor Larry Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
