Tony Preston Hollingsworth, 93, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Friday January 5, 2024 in Tecumseh.
He was born on May 23, 1930 to Claude and Rena (Nadeau) Hollingsworth in Harjo, Oklahoma.
Tony was raised in Harjo, and Tecumseh and attended Harjo Public Schools.
He married Barbara Copeland on January 9, 1956 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Tony was a jack of all trades and worked as a mechanic, truck driver, and worked for the city of Tecumseh in several different job roles. He owned and operated a gravel company and a salvage yard. He loved to fish and hunt and going to the casino. He enjoyed watching westerns and telling stories and was known for his DIY skills and sense of humor. He was a proud member to the Citizen Potawatomi Tribe.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Hollingsworth; son, Jesse Joe Hollingsworth; daughter, Gaye Sisney; brothers, Jim Hollingsworth, Louie Hollingsworth, and Glenn Hollingsworth; and sisters, Laura Lincoln, Sarah Belcher, Dilla Foreman, Mary Cole, and Hazel Fread.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Toni Johnson, of Noble, OK; one sister-in-law, Betty Hollingsworth, of Seminole, OK; 4 grandchildren, Misty Conover, Bo and Braiden Green, Dakota Motley, and Christopher Motley and wife Mickey; five great-grandchildren, Megan Conover, Dylan Conover and fiancé Caroline Pepper, Jayden Green and fiancé Elijah Keenan, Jett Green, and August Green; one great-great granddaughter, Lainey Conover; numerous extended family; and many friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2024 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Hart officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Please join us on Cooper Funeral Home Facebook page for live streaming of the service.
