Tim Ford, 85, of Shawnee, Oklahoma lost his battle with Alzheimer’s May 28, 2021.
Tim was born August 25, 1935 in a tent in Temple, Oklahoma. Born to parents Louie W. and Rose Ford. Like all little boys he had dreams of being someone and accomplishing a lot.
In school, he was on the basketball and baseball teams at John Marshall high school.
He was a member of the National Guard’s 45th Infantry for over 23 years, retiring as a Warrant Officer.
He was a member of the Nichols Hills Fire Department for over 23 year, achieving the rank of Captain. He taught rural fire training for OSU for 7 years, changed to central Oklahoma Risk Management services for another 8 years and was then voted the President of the Oklahoma Retired Firefighters Association, making 43 plus years in Fire service.
Tim was a member of the Masonic lodge for 40 years. Tim was a survivor of the OKC Alfred P. Murrah Building. He worked multiple other part-time jobs to provide extremely well for his family. Tim also had a great love of OU football and basketball, was a season ticket holder for over 50 years. Tim enjoyed golf most every weekend, and did accomplish the elusive “Hole in 1”. He did accomplish quite a lot, indeed.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Louie W. And Rose Ford; his brother, Fred H. Ford, Sr.; and sister, Fammie (Ford) Tauber.
Tim is survived by his wife, Judy Jo Ford; son, Kim W. Ford; daughter, Wendy (Wynde) Ford Hammock; stepson, Bert Lampl; stepdaughters, “Mo” Maureén Smith and Selynn Schnell; grandson, Justin W. Ford; his first wife, Wilma G. Ford. As well as 10 step grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren and 1 step great great-granddaughter; as well as many nieces, nephews their children and grandchildren; and other extended family and many many friends.
Tim was very loved and will be missed by many family, friends and colleagues.
Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 and continue through service time. Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 501 N. Broadway Ave., Shawnee, OK with Reverend Tom Dahlman officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
