Tanner Dea Woodard, 33, of McLoud, Oklahoma, passed from this life on November 6, 2025.
Tanner was born September 16, 1992, in Oklahoma City to Tommy Dea Woodard and Robyn Renee’ Burns. He spent the majority of his childhood in Yukon, where he began school at Shedeck Elementary and continued through Yukon Public Schools, proudly graduating from Yukon High School with the Class of 2011.
Throughout his life, Tanner worked in several fields, including manufacturing, fracking, and welding. He was never afraid of hard work and was always eager to learn something new. He had recently taken courses and was excited about pursuing a career in the HVAC trade.
Tanner loved sports from an early age. He played baseball and basketball throughout his childhood and remained a devoted fan into adulthood. He enjoyed collecting sports cards and cheering for his favorite teams—the Oklahoma Sooners, the Denver Broncos, and the OKC Thunder. Tanner also cherished time outdoors. He grew up camping at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur and especially loved swimming in its famously cold waters. He was an avid fisherman and had a deep love for animals—something they always seemed to sense and return.
Tanner was deeply patriotic and proud of his country. But above all, he loved the Lord. He was well versed in Scripture and read his Bible daily, grounding his life in faith and the comfort it brought him.
Tanner will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, his passions, and the love he carried for his family, friends, and God. He held many titles in his young life, but the one he loved the most was “Daddy”.
Tanner was preceded in death by his grandfather, Aubrey Prince, Jr. and dear cousin Sean Reed.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Robyn Burns and Tommy Woodard (Judy); brother, Zach Smith (Britta); grandparents, Sandra Prince and Robert Burns Sr. (Sylvia), Richard Woodard (Eddie Joyce); children, Tristan and Taylynn Woodard; uncles, Robert Burns Jr. (Rachelle) and Tony Burns; cousins, Caleb and Kellan Burns; and other extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 24, 2025, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, Tecumseh, Oklahoma with Reverend Bryan Hetherington, Immanuel Baptist Church, Davis, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
