Steven "Papa Steve" R. Kinsey

Steven “Papa Steve” R. Kinsey age 70, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Friday, January 19, 2024 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

He was born August 28, 1953 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Kenneth and Jackie (White) Kinsey.

Steve was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools graduating with the class of 1971 from Tecumseh High School.                                                                          

He married Judith Ann “Judy” Schlehuber in March of 2000 and she preceded him in death on July 26, 2023. He raised his family in the Tecumseh and Bethel area.

Working and family were the passions of Steve's life. His work and work ethic were unmatched by anyone in the industry.  His kids and grandkids were the focal point of his life. Steve was a former member of Primitive Baptist Church in Tecumseh and is a current member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Oklahoma City. He was a proud member of the Tecumseh Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Kinsey; daughter, Tamara Kinsey; parents, Kenneth and Jackie Kinsey; granddaughter, Lyndsey Kabalan; grandson, Ryder Kinsey; and brother, Bruce Kinsey.

He is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law; Tina  and Joe Glasgow of Earlsboro, OK and Michelle Kabalan of Shawnee, OK; 1 son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Autumn Kinsey of Shawnee, OK; grandchildren, Tony and Sabrina Glasgow, Jessica and Cody Quirk, Colton and Aleah Glasgow, Noah Glasgow, Savana Glasgow, Rodney Kabalan, Zooey Kabalan, Riley Kinsey, Emma and Emery Stallings and Rowdy Kinsey; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Gary and Sandie Kinsey of Tecumseh, OK and Tim and Annette Kinsey of Branford, FL; and many loving friends and extended family.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024 and continue through service time.  Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Allen Daniels, Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Oklahoma City, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Macomb, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
