Shirley Anderson

Shirley Anderson, 89, of Harrah, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in Shawnee. 

She was born October 1, 1932 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Norman and Helen (York) Goodrich. 

Shirley was raised in Arcadia, Oklahoma and attended Arcadia Public Schools until the 3rd grade.  She graduated from Northeast High School.  She has lived in Harrah for the last 70 years. 

Shirley married Kenneth Leo Anderson in 1950.  He preceded her in death on March 17, 2020. 

She was a member of Countryside Baptist Church.  

Shirley was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed cooking, baking and visiting with her close group of friends, known as the “The Retired Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders” and spending time with her family.  Her family was the focal point of her life. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Anderson; parents, Norman and Helen Goodrich; daughter, Patricia “Susie” Anderson-Cargal; 2 sisters, Mary Berry and Mable Craun; and 3 brothers, George Goodrich, Victor Goodrich and Alpheus Goodrich.     

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda Anderson Gifford of Tecumseh, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Karen Anderson of Oklahoma City, OK; 5 grandchildren, Robert and Sandra Grogan, Mindee and James Todd, Chris and Keli Anderson, Kendon Anderson and Michael and Candace Ousley; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; friend, Jean Zimmerman; and other extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2022 and continue through service time.  Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Justin Dunn, University Baptist Church, Shawnee, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Arcadia IOOF Cemetery in Arcadia, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
