Sandra Kay (Thompson) Henry

Sandra Kay (Thompson) Henry passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the age of 79 after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Sandy, the daughter of Clyde and Leona (Roberts) Thompson was born on September 21, 1944 in Long Beach CA. Her parents moved back to Tribbey OK when Sandy was 6 months old. Sandy was raised in Tribbey, OK where she attended Tribbey Public School.

After high school she married Harold Joe Wheeler in 1962. Sandy gave birth to two sons. Sandy was a loving and caring mother who worked hard while attending college and raising her two sons. Later in life Sandy married her high school sweetheart, Charles Henry, and they were married on July 23, 2010 in Shawnee OK where they continued to live a wonderful life together.

Sandy worked as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City where she was a beloved caretaker to her patients and cherished by her coworkers and friends. Sandy's perseverance was evident throughout her life and her resolve was demonstrated in a near fatal car wreck that left her with a severe brain injury. Through her strength and resolve and despite her injuries, she completed a 31-year career doing what she loved.

Sandy enjoyed many hobbies in her life including gardening, cooking, photography, and stained glass. After retirement Sandy enjoyed her retirement years with her loving husband Charles, tending to her rose bushes, enjoying her two cats. Sandy's faith in Christ was important part of her life and she continued to care about the welfare of others and loved animals. Sandy often donated to many charitable organizations and causes.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Leona Thompson.

She is survived by her husband Charles Henry of the home, sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Yusenda Wheeler and Tony and Sandy Wheeler, grandson Eric Wheeler and wife Lauren Wheeler, and three great granddaughters, and many close friends and former coworkers.

A memorial service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2024 for family and friends at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, 210 West Walnut St in Tecumseh, OK with Chaplain Susan Aires, Choice Hospice officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.  A Private Interment ceremony will be held at Tribbey Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association@ https://www.Alz.org.
