Rosa (Moore) Reed, 83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her home.
Rosa was born in Harrah, Oklahoma. She was the 6th of 7 children born to Ray and Jessie Moore. Rosa was married for 64 years to the love of her life, Hubert (Hub) Reed.
Graduating from Harrah High School, Redlands College, and Southwestern Oklahoma State University prepared her for her teaching position at El Reno High School.
After retirement, Rosa and Hub moved to the Johnson Community northeast of Shawnee.
A Christian since the age of nine, Rosa was an active member of Fairview Baptist Church in Earlsboro where she served as church treasurer for many years.
Rosa was a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, and siblings: Evelyn Hopcus, Eddie Moore, Julia Walden, Harold (Ticky) Moore, and Marilyn Clark; nephews, Donnie Clark and Gary Hopcus, Sr.; and niece, Kim Capps Brown.
Left to treasure her memory are daughters and spouses, Jenna and Richard Minyard of Mustang and Amy and Anthony Davis of Shawnee; grandsons, Pike Pennington of El Reno and Aaryn Minyard of Mustang; step-grandsons, Tony Davis of Shawnee and Bryar Davis of Shawnee; great-grandson, Jacen Estrada of Verden, and bonus great grandchildren, Iris Conley of Verden and Indy Conley of Verden; sister, Linda Capps of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Sue Moore of Choctaw; brother-in-law, Don Clark of Shawnee; nieces and nephews, Debra Walden, Cindy Stites, Tammy Walden, James Walden, Frank Hill, Edmond Hopcus, Jr., Teri Ragsdale, Kathy Henry, Mike Moore, Cheri Leinneweber, Lori Merrill, Greg Clark, Jan Cain, Brian Capps, Aaron Capps, Ladawn, Marcus, and Troy Hough; many great nieces and nephews; and many wonderful and special friends from Harrah, El Reno, and Shawnee.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2025 with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and family. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Friday, August 22, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church. Casket will be closed at time of service and will not be opened after service. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2025 at Fairview Baptist Church, Earlsboro, Oklahoma with Pastor Ernest Cowden and Deacon Kelly Casey officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Fairview Baptist Church Homeless Program, 48502 Highway 3E, Earlsboro, OK 74840.
