Roberta May Motley, 85, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at her home.
Roberta was born March 12, 1935 to James and Ethel (Patton) Brawdy in Hominy, Oklahoma.
She was raised in the Pawnee area and attended Pawnee Schools. Roberta later attended Seminole State College.
She worked as an LPN for many years and as a clerk at Arlans & Robertson Drapery Factory.
Roberta married Elmer Motley on November 20, 1998 and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2008.
She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Roberta loved working in her flowerbeds, mowing and was an avid collector of many interesting things; and loved listening to gospel and old country music.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Kenneth Niccum, Sr.; her husband, Elmer Motley; 5 sisters, Martha, Opal, Mary, Stella and Pansey; and 5 brothers, Sonny, David, infant brother, George and Johnny.
Survivors include her #1 companion, Sassy the poodle; 2 daughters, Barbara Glover of Tecumseh, OK and Virginia House of Shawnee, OK; 1 son, Virgil “Kenny” Niccum, Jr. of Shawnee, OK; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 1 brother, Bobby Brawdy; and numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2020 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
