Robert G. Tipton, Jr.

Robert George Tipton, Jr., 74, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 21, 2025 in Oklahoma City.

He was born July 8, 1950 to Robert George Tipton Sr. and Pharabe Jane (Dunham) Tipton in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Robert grew up in Wyandotte, Oklahoma.  He attended school and played football during high school and graduated from Wyandotte.  

He married Virginia Ann (Hollon) in Wyandotte on October 18, 1969. They met while working at Buddy L. He said it was love at first sight.

Robert was a business owner in the Oilfield.

He enjoyed outdoor activities of fishing in his farm ponds, hunting quail, raising cutting horses. He also enjoyed spending time with family. He was known to carry Dum Dum suckers in his shirt pocket for that precious great grandbaby.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert G. and Pharabe Ann Tipton and grandparents, Robert S. and Ruth Ann Tipton.         

His memory will be kept alive by his wife, Virginia Ann Tipton of the home; 3 daughters, Vicky Lee Tipton of Shawnee, Theresa Louise Tipton and husband Eduard Bar of Shawnee, and Tammy Renee’ Wicker and husband Kevin Wicker of Tecumseh; 6 grandchildren and one great-grand child; sister, Dee Ann Negahnquet of Denton, TX; 2 brothers David Bryan Tipton of Anderson, TX and Richard Warren and wife Theresa Tipton of Vinita, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews and many other family and dear friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, 2025 and continue through service time with the family gathering to meet with friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home.  Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clint Bryant, Tecumseh First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
