Robert A. McCuistion, 86 of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away on September 1, 2025, peacefully at home, with his wife Evelyn McCuistion by his side.
Robert was born on December 21, 1938, to Don and Rosie McCuistion in Seminole, Oklahoma. He was raised in Macomb, Ok with his 7 sisters. He went on to enlist in the United States Navy on September 1, 1956, and was honorably discharged in May of 1959.
Robert married his first wife Myrtle Stobaugh, on May 5, 1961, in Santa Ana, California. They had two sons together, Mike and Donald McCuistion.
Robert moved to Norco, California and lived there for 20 years, later moving to Tulare, California for 10 years. He returned to Oklahoma in May 2000 after retiring as a Correctional Officer from Corcoran State Prison, California. He lived in Macomb, Oklahoma for five years before settling in Tecumseh, Oklahoma since 2005.
After his first wife passed in May of 2012, Robert surrounded himself by loved ones and the church. He later reconnected and married Evelyn Moody on October 10, 2023. The last six years have been surrounded by happiness, love and lots of laughs. Robert enjoyed his retired life; he loved to keep himself busy fixing things around the house and working in his yard. He was very proud of his yard. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ. He loved watching old western movies during relaxing times and listening to country music.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Evelyn McCuistion, of the home; sons, Mike and Carrie McCuistion, La Vernia, Texas, Donald and Sunshine McCuistion, Tecumseh, OK.; sister Rosemary Thomas, Chandler, OK; 15 grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren and other extended friends and family.
Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025, and 1:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, with family gathering from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to greet friends and family. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2025, at the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Erik Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
