Rita was born and raised in Shawnee where she attended high school and graduated in 1961. She married John on March 9, 1962 at Trinity Baptist Church in Shawnee. The two spent 52 beautiful years raising their family. Rita always enjoyed cooking for and taking great care of her large family.
She was the administrator at Sunset Estates Nursing Home in El Reno, OK. She took immense pride in caring for the residents there. In the earlier years she enjoyed playing pool, water and snow skiing, and target shooting. After retirement she enjoyed caretaking her family and farm, cooking, flower gardening, canning, and playing rummy with her husband John.
The thing that stands out most about our sweet kind mom and grandma, is her selflessness, love of her family, and her kind beautiful spirit. She was already an angel on earth. She is missed by us all. We all love you and will miss you Grandma.
