Nellie Whittet Obituary

Nellie Gloris Whittet, 75, of Macomb passed away on August 26th, 2021 at her home. Nellie was born on August 29, 1945 in South Haven Kansas to Carl and Emily Posey.

Nellie married Tommy Whittet on June 20, 1975. They made their home in Macomb where they have lived the last 35 years.

She spent many years working as a housekeeper at Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at the University of Oklahoma and Macomb School. Nellie had many interests and hobbies including going to garage sales, sitting on her front porch watching her hummingbirds and chickens, and attending all of her children and grandchildren’s school activities. She loved getting her hair and nails done and wearing all of her blingy jewelry. She was known for going over the top for every birthday and holiday, especially Christmas. The love and passion for her interests and hobbies could not match the love she had for her family. She was happiest with a loud house full of her kids and grandkids.

Nellie was loved by all who knew her. One of her greatest joys was being involved at Macomb School where she attended hundreds of ball games. Nellie was known as Nana to many of the students and members of the Macomb community. She loved cheering on the Hornets and working in the concession stand.
