Naomi Irene Frentz - Totherow, age 85, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at her home.
Irene was born April 09, 1938 in Hidalgo, Texas, to Aubrey and Doris Ellen (Hardesty) Gee.
She grew up in Oklahoma City and attended Capitol Hill Schools. She moved to Mcloud in 1970 after she remarried, where she lived off and on until 2021, when she moved to Shawnee and resided with her grandsons Joshua and Marshall.
Irene married her first husband Charles Frentz November 4, 1955, and he preceded her in death in 1970 after a work-related accident. She later married her second husband Bill Totherow in 1973 and he also preceded her in death in 1982.
She worked as a CNA for Colonial Estates Nursing Home and Mcloud Nursing Center until she retired in 2001.
Irene enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the pool, shopping online, and planting flowers. She loved being outside and loved elephants. She also enjoyed being with her fur babies Parker and Shadow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, her granddaughter, Bailey; grandson, Connor; son-in-law, Calvin Blevins; brothers, Edwin Gilindo, Leroy "Frank" Gilindo, Wayne Osborn and Charles Gee; and sisters, Violet Cantwell and Alta Dye.
Irene is survived by her son, Larry Frentz and Kim of Mcloud; daughter, Debra Blevins of Stigler; her son, Robbie Frentz of Macomb; her sisters, Patty Knight of Oklahoma City, Nancy, Wanda and Mary; brothers, Mark and Coorkie; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2024 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday January 29, 2024 at Romulus Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Lee, Romulus Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Romulus Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
