Mickey Chesser, 77, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his home.
He was born February 16, 1944 to Paul and Hettie (Wadlow) Chesser in Hobart, Oklahoma.
Mickey was raised in Shawnee and attended Shawnee Public Schools. He graduated with the class of 1962 from Shawnee High School.
Mickey married Deana Pierce on January 22, 1988 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
He proudly served his country by joining the Army National Guard in Shawnee. Mickey had been a lifelong resident of Shawnee until moving to Hawaii in 1996. In 2004 he moved back to his hometown of Shawnee.
Mickey worked in retail sales for Walmart where he held several positions.
He was the world’s biggest collector of flashlights. Mickey enjoyed fishing and playing solitaire on his phone. Mickey loved the Lord and was a devout Christian.
He was preceded in death his parents, Paul and Hettie Chesser; 1 sister, Carol Drummond; and 1 brother, Billy Chesser.
Survivors include his wife, Deana Chesser of the home; 3 children, Tina Stackhouse of Shawnee, OK, Ronnie Stackhouse of Seminole, OK and Pam Jansen of Florida; 6 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Jimmy Chesser; and many cherished family and friends; and his fur babies and grand fur babies.
The family request that memorial contributions be made in Mickey's name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761 or American Cancer Society, 6525 N. Meridian Ave., Suite 110, Oklahoma City, OK 73116 in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Life for Mickey will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
