Mary Dell Marie (Littleton) Gokey, 89, lifelong resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Wednesday, November 20, 2024 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
She was born on August 1, 1935 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Cleve and Zella (Austin) Littleton. She was raised in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School.
Mary married Leo Gokey on December 22, 1952 in Washington State.
Leo and Mary owned and operated Gokey Dairy Farm east of Tecumseh along with their family for 27 years.
She was a member of the local Free Will Baptist Church where she served many years as the church pianist and nursery attendant.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Leo Gokey; her parents, Cleve and Zella Littleton; grandsons, John Gokey, Jr., Benjamin Lack and Zachary Cleere; granddaughter, Mandy Hollingshead; brothers, Stanley Littleton, Joe Littleton, and Mayborn Littleton; and sister, Myrna Littleton.
Those left to cherish her memory are; 1 son and daughter-in-law, John and Judy Gokey of Tecumseh, OK; 4 daughters and 3 sons-in-law, Murna Lack of Tecumseh, OK, Roselyn and Rick Kerschner of Tecumseh, OK, Joanie and David Scovel of Tecumseh, OK and Carol and Alvin Cleere of Shawnee, OK; 21 grandchildren: Erin Meyers, Jody Blackwell, Jeremy Lack, Danielle Lack, Lidia Lack, Cody Lack, Stephanie Lack, Jessica Utter, Mark Whaley, Candy Scovel Green, Autumn Munier, Charli Scovel, Montana Scovel, Cheyenne Scovel, Kyra Hawkins, Joe Gokey, Bailey Cleere, and Clayton Cleere, 39 great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Helen Littleton, and many other loving extended family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mark Whaley, Clayton Cleere, Montana Scovel, James Meyers, Kendall Green, Adin Gokey, Rayston Utter, Riley Utter, and Jaxon Meyers.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, November 24, 2024 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 25, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Val Gokey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
