Mary Ann Godfrey, 72, of Oklahoma City passed away Tuesday morning, August 19, 2025, peacefully in her home.
She was born September 17, 1952 to James and Isabelle (Peacore) Edgin in Shawnee. She was raised in Ridgecrest, California and graduated from Burroughs High School. She had two sons, Christopher and Andrew Gregory. She lived in California and then moved back to Oklahoma when her children were a little older.
She married Robert Godfrey in 1991. The two of them resided in McLoud from the time of marriage until Robert's passing in 2020. In 2024 she moved to Oklahoma City to live with her granddaughter, Ally Stewart, until her passing.
She worked as a nurse for many decades, retiring from the State of Oklahoma. She enjoyed going to church, arts and crafts, visiting with family, shopping trips, and reading books to her great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Godfrey; sons Christopher and Andrew Gregory; parents, James and Isabelle (Peacore) Edgin; sister Margaret; and brother David Tibbetts.
Those left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Ally and Talor Stewart, Katelynn Gregory, and Andrew Gregory II; great-granddaughter, Elena Stewart; siblings, Steve Brokeshoulder and Melanie Roberts, and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025 with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and family. Open service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with services provided by Abraham Wright of Council Road Baptist Church; Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
