Mary Helen Sandefur, age 91 of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
She was born July 3, 1933 at her home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to James Neely and Emma (McBride) Tucker. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1951.
Mary married Kenneth Sandefur on March 7, 1953 in the Tecumseh Methodist Church.
She worked alongside her husband at the grocery store/laundromat they owned and operated. Later she worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a sheet metal tech until she retired in 2001. She was proud of her service and time at Tinker.
Mary enjoyed sewing, crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by; her parents; her husband Kenneth Sandefur in 1971; and all of her brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are; daughter, Mary Jane Higgins and husband Wesley of OKC; daughter, Sara Ann Hasley of Tecumseh; grandson, Matt Higgins and wife Sarah of OKC; granddaughter, Sarah Stutzman and husband Mike of Edmond; granddaughter, Mary Carline Hasley and fiance Evan Boland of Yukon; three great-grandsons, Nate Higgins, Luke Higgins, and Ellis Stutzman; sister-in-law, Joyce Boggs and husband Norman of Seminole; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Tecumseh Cemetery Pavilion with Reverend Clint Dawkins officiating, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
