Martha Ann Sliger

Martha Ann Sliger, age 89, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away, Friday, May 2, 2025 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was born October 5, 1935 to Arthur Boyd and Tennie Mae (York) Chilcoat in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Martha attended school in Elmore City and lived in Wynnewood and later in Ada, Oklahoma.  She attended East Central State College.

She married Leroy Wright in 1958 and he preceded her in death in 1964.  Martha later married Chester Sliger in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on February 7, 1968 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2008.

Martha worked in healthcare as an LPN Nurse for 15 years and was a homemaker.  She was the first Policewoman Meter maid in Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leroy Wright and Chester Sliger; her parents, Arthur and Tennie Chilcoat; 4 brothers, Richard, Tom, Arvol and Edward; and sister, Pauline.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Pam of Tecumseh; 2 sons, David of Alabama and Mike of Tecumseh; 2 stepdaughters, Linda of Norman and Sharon of Texas; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Casket will remain closed. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Bill “Sonny” Huckaby officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
