Martha Jane French

Martha Jane French, 87, long time resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away on October 15, 2021. 

Martha was born February 1, 1934 to Omer Vester Williams and Susan Katie Leeper in Newalla, Oklahoma at their family home. 

Martha graduated from Tecumseh High School in May 1952. After graduation, she married her High School sweetheart, Jack D. French and they were married for 61 years.   

Martha was a quiet and private person.  She was a devoted wife and mother.  After raising their 4 children, she worked alongside her husband at Tecumseh Dental Clinic. 

Martha was a fantastic cook, known for her banana ice cream and corn bread dressing.  

Martha is survived by her children, Jack D. French and his wife Lynette, of Tecumseh, OK; Jim French of Tecumseh, OK; Lisa French Vierling and Dennis of Rockwall, Texas, and Connie Newsome French of Tecumseh, OK; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and her very best friend, her sister, Ruth Garver, 90 of El Cajon, California. 

Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Jack French, her baby boy Robert Mark French, her parents, Omer and Katie Williams, four sisters, one brother, 3 half-brothers, one half-sister, a daughter in law Terrye French and one great grandson Cade. 

Upon Martha’s wishes there will be no formal services. Burial will take place at Resthaven Memorial Park Shawnee, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
