Margaret "Doylene" Grimm Obituary

Margaret “Doylene” Grimm, 87, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 in Shawnee. 

She was born August 5, 1933 to Doyle and Oleta (Story) Wilson in Crescent, Oklahoma. 

Doylene was raised in Crescent and graduated with the class of 1951 from Crescent High School.  She attended Phillips University in Enid, OK where she met her future husband, Paul Grimm.  

She and Rolla “Paul” Grimm were married on February 20, 1953 in Crescent, Oklahoma. They moved to California in 1955 where they resided until 2000 when they moved to Enid and then in 2012 moved to Tecumseh.  Her husband Paul preceded her in death on May 12, 2015. 

Doylene worked as a school secretary and at the State of California Highway Department, but her main passion was her mission work after retirement.  

She loved quilting, cooking, reading and was a master gardener.  Doylene never met a stranger and loved spending time with children, especially her grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolla “Paul” Grimm; her parents, Doyle and Oleta “Pauline” Wilson; and brother, Hugh Wilson. 

Those left to cherish her memory are 1 daughter and 1 son-in-law, Diane and Gary Adams of Tecumseh, OK; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Paul “Mike” and Donna Grimm of Edmond, OK and Phillip and Becky Grimm of Meeker, OK; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Phyllis Ross of Crescent, OK, Betty Oswald of Crescent, OK, Jerry Ruth Lueck of Buckeye, AZ and Rita Lea O’Kelley of  Duncan, OK; 1 brother, Layton Wilson of Coweta, OK; and other extended family and friends. 

A celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 22, 2020 at First Christian Church in Crescent, OK. Cremation arrangements by Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.  There will be no viewing. 

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
