Lois Lovetta Hampton, 82, of Bethel Acres, Oklahoma passed away, Thursday, April 29, 2021.
She was born October 3, 1938 in Shawnee to Eva (Chancellor) and Enoch Gaddy. All her family called her “Baby” instead of her given name. She was the youngest child in the family.
She was a lifelong resident of Bethel Acres. Gaddy Road was named after her family. She graduated from Bethel High School in 1955. She had some college at Oklahoma Baptist University.
Lois married Bill Hampton on January 22, 1956. They were married for 63 years at the time of his passing in 2019.
She had many talents. Helped with building their home. She did many arts and crafts over the years. Talented artist and could draw or paint anything. She was a good musician, playing many instruments including an accordion and harp. Her late husband was a gospel magician and she assisted him. They put on shows at nursing homes, churches, with amazing tricks while teaching the Bible. She was a volunteer for 14 years at the Shawnee hospital.
She was a member of Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church and was a devout Christian and will no doubt celebrate with God in heaven and her beloved family that have been waiting for her there. Husband Bill and son Terry Hampton. Her grandparents and parents. Brothers, Harold, Bob, and Gene Gaddy. Sisters, Juantia (Neta) Gibson and Ruth Giddens. Many other extended family members and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Diane Hill and husband Gary of Tecumseh; son, Brian Jay Hampton of Shawnee; grandchildren, Lance Hill of Ada, OK, Christin Tompkins and husband Nick of Tecumseh, Sheena Hampton of Shawnee and Alex Hampton of Ardmore, OK; great-grandchildren, Grayson Tompkins, Jilya, Jameia, Brown and Kayla Hampton of Shawnee, OK; brothers-in-law, Larry Hampton and wife Linda of Seminole, OK, Bobby Hampton of Shawnee; and sister, Doris and Jack Hurst of Shawnee; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Viewing will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery with Reverend Larry Sparks officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
