Linda Sue O'Brien

Linda Sue O’Brien, 78, of Macomb, passed away on Saturday, June 18th, 2022, after a short illness.

Linda was born on July 18th, 1943 to Jim and Alice Vickers in Seminole, Oklahoma. Linda was a world traveler due to her father being in the military. They settled in Texas where Linda graduated high school in 1963, getting married and having her oldest child.

She remarried in 1969 to the love of her life, Michael O’Brien moving to Colorado and having her next two sons. While in Colorado she worked to get two Bachelor degrees - History and Geography. The family spent many happy years there making lifelong friends that became family. They moved back to Seminole, Oklahoma due to her husband’s illness. After moving back Linda returned to graduate school where she received her Masters Degree in Business and going to work for the State of Oklahoma. She worked for the Department of Human Services before moving to the Office of the Inspector General. She retired from the State of Oklahoma after a fulfilling Career.

Linda enjoyed painting, whether it was ceramics, oil painting or project painting. She also enjoyed fishing. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Michael O’Brien and her parents.

She is survived by her three beloved sons - James “Jay” Smith and wife Dena of Macomb, OK, Thomas “Tom” O’Brien and wife Lorri of Greeley, Colorado and son Jarrod O’Brien of Macomb, OK. She is survived by 5 grandchildren, Chris, Ashley, Macie, Cydnie and Mackenzie; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2022 at Prospect Cemetery in Macomb, OK with David Baxter officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
