Linda went to her heavenly home on January 5th, 2026, in the presence of her loving family. She was born November 16th, 1946, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Walter and Chubby Washburn. Linda and Charles received the lord together at a tent revival at the age of fourteen and seventeen, respectively. She married Charles Gambrell on November 22nd, 1963.
Linda worked in retail sales and provided care for special needs individuals and the elderly for many years in the home. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends during antique shopping trips. Linda’s family was her joy. One of her life achievements is being the wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and mother-in-law of a very large, supportive, and loving family. She was a western cinema fan as well.
Linda is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Charles Gambrell of the home, daughter Tammy Murray and husband Jeff of Meeker, son Mark Gambrell and wife Jennifer of Shawnee, daughter Mandy Ash and husband Waylon of Shawnee. Grandchildren: Chase and Jessica Murray, Chelsi and Conley Blackwolf, Dayton and Sierra Gambrell, Jordan and Brady Thomas, Shelbi and Kieser Hladik, Hannah and Dylan Lang, and Stroud Ash. Great-Grandchildren: Cade, Easton, Creed, Grady, Hollis, Gatlin, Anderson, Gunner, Magnolia, Lily, Bo, and Jack. Brother Gary Washburn and wife Sharon, brother-in-law Dennis Gambrell and wife April, and sister-in-law Phyllis Neal. Alongside her immediate family, Linda was blessed with a host of long-time friends and loved ones.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Chubby Washburn and in-laws, Clifford and Billie Gambrell.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to all the special care given to Linda by those exemplary individuals at the Fresenius Kidney Care in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Linda never met a stranger and was always dressed for the occasion. She carried herself with grace and elegance until she was called home.
Her legacy will endure through her family and all those whose lives she touched over the years.
Visitation will be held from 9 o’clock to 8 o’clock on Friday, January 9th at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma with family gathering to greet friends and loved ones from 4 o’clock to 6 o’clock. A celebration of life for Linda will be held Saturday, January 10th at 10 o’clock at Cooper Funeral Home. Burial service will follow at the Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home Tecumseh.
