Lilburn Cosper

Lilburn Cosper, 85, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 in Shawnee. 

He was born August 11, 1936 to James and Mary (Dunn) Cosper in Colony, Oklahoma. 

Lilburn was raised in Colony, Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Corn, OK with the class of 1954. 

He married his high school sweetheart, Darla J. Melton on January 8, 1955 in Colony, Oklahoma. She preceded in death on June 14, 2014. 

Lilburn and Darla made their home in Colony until moving to Mustang when he began his career with Scrivener Foods later becoming Fleming Foods until his retirement.  He has lived in Tecumseh for the last 50 years.  

Lilburn was a member of Living Love Christian Center in Shawnee.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, football and watching old western shows. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darla J. Cosper; daughter, Venita Spoon; son, Jerry Cosper; grandson, Michael McCathern; sisters, Virginia, and Ethelda; and brother, Jimmy.       

Those left to cherish his memory are 2 daughters, Jeanne Jones and Rick Heathorn of Tecumseh, OK and Gloria and Rex Elmore of Shawnee, OK; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren; 1 brother James Cosper, Jr. of Las Cruces, NM; and other extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home and continue through service time.  Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 20, 2021 at Living Love Christian Center in Shawnee with Pastor Mark Guinn officiating.
