Lawanda Faye Adamson

Lawanda Faye Adamson, 79, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in Shawnee. 

She was born May 23, 1941 to William Arlet and Alice Grace (Brooks) Rosebud in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. 

Lawanda was raised in Shawnee and Varnum.  She attended Varnum Public Schools. 

She married Frank W. Adamson on June 29, 1958 in Varnum, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on March 10, 2008.  

After Frank’s military service in the Air Force they made home their home in Tecumseh where she has lived since. 

Lawanda was a mother and homemaker most of her adult life.  She was a camp host at Porum Landing at Eufaula Lake and a gate attendant at Gentry Creek at Eufaula Lake. Lawanda enjoyed spending the winter months in Brownsville, Texas, gardening, fishing, camping and boating. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Adamson; 2 grandsons, Mauricio Gonzales and Josh Lytle; her parents, William and Alice Rosebud; and 1 sister, Vanita Powers. 

Survivors include 2 daughters, Peggy Armstrong of Tecumseh, OK and Shirley Adamson of Shawnee, OK; 1 son, Gerald Adamson of Tecumseh, OK; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Loretta Sheppard of Tecumseh, OK; and other extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2021 and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Graveside Service will be 3:30 p.m., Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Tecumseh with Reverend Larry Sparks officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
