Larry Dwight Hearon

Larry Hearon, age 71, of Tecumseh, OK passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in Tecumseh. 

He was born May 6, 1949 in Artesia, NM to Buford “Boots” and Daisy (Hoffman) Hearon. 

Larry was raised in Lindsay, OK. He also lived in California, moving to Pauls Valley in 1971. From there he lived in the Oklahoma City area until recently moving to Tecumseh. 

Larry married Christine Johnson in Eureka Springs, AR on May 11, 2002. 

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, serving 3 tours in Vietnam. 

After the military he worked as a long distance truck driver with Joe Brown. He then worked at Tinker Air Force Base for 13 years as an aircraft painter retiring in November 2014. 

He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Shawnee.  Larry loved to ride motorcycles, especially Gold Wing. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and 14 brothers and sisters.             

Larry is survived by his wife Christine, of the home; 2 daughters, Larece and Johnnie Payne of Kingston and Teri Payne of Aubrey, TX; 1 son-in-law and spouse, Billy and Stacy Payne of Aubrey, TX; grandchildren, Jennaca Payne, Jonah Payne, Ella Smith, and Jaxon Smith; pets, Max, CoCo, and Little Bit; and many loving friends and extended family. 

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2020 and continue through service time.  Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chase Foutch officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Gibson Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
