LaDonna Ellis

Ladonna (Donna) Jo Ellis, age 81, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2024 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

She was born Augst 15, 1942 in Wellston, Oklahoma to Gus and Irene (Mankin) Hodde. 

Donna lived in Texas and California then moved to Choctaw before returning to Shawnee.

She owned and operated “Arts Café’ on Beard Street for many years and worked at Aldridge café and Bean’s Construction.

Donna enjoyed going to the casino and hanging out with her niece and sister and just going for a ride.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Irene Hodde; son, David Ellis Sr., and daughter, Debbie Williams; grandson, David Ellis, Jr; sister, Jean Heath; and brother, Floyd McCoy.      

Survivors include her son, Lonnie Whittet and wife Gina of Shawnee, OK; son, JD Ellis and wife Tina Grantham of Checotah, OK; brother, Rob and Debbie Hodde; sister, June Anderson; 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.                                                           

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday July 26, 2024, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday July 27, 2024, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Josh Seabolt with Generations Church, Guthrie, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
