Kenneth Frank Vaughn, age 74 of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed from this life Saturday, October 5, 2024.
He was born December 26, 1949 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Frank and Doris (Youker) Vaughn.
Ken grew up in the First Assembly of God Church of Tecumseh where Rev. Robert P. Rider was pastor. Ken was the first baby dedication for Rev. Rider. Ken was the first generational baby dedication also for Rev. Rider. He has not lived outside Shawnee and Tecumseh other than his military service. He served in the US Army during Vietnam at Camron Bay and was honorably discharged.
He worked at Tinker AFB from 1969-1997 and retired on March 30, 1997 after working various Security Guard jobs before entering full retirement.
Ken attended Church of the Living God for several years and was attending Living Love Christian Center when he passed.
He loved collecting memorabilia of historical and famous people. Among his favorites was his collections of John F. Kennedy and Elvis Presley. In his earlier years he loved attending pro wrestling events with his son, Kent. Branson, Missouri was his favorite place to visit for short vacations and he would go there two or three times a year.
Ken is preceded in death by, his parents, Frank and Doris Vaughn.
Survivors include son, Kent Vaughn; grandsons, Christian Vaughn and Liam Vaughn; granddaughter, Chloe Neier and husband Michael; brother, Alden Vaughn and wife Carolyn; sister, Phyllis Ingram and husband Brian; brother, Russell Vaughn and wife Sharlyn; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2024, with family gathering from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Cooper Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Living Love Christian Center with Pastor Mark Guinn officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
