Karen Lucille (Montgomery) Grundy, 77, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed from this life Friday, September 16, 2022 in Oklahoma City.
She was born December 20, 1944 to Robert Eugene and Beulah Mae (Bourland) Montgomery in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
Karen was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools. She graduated with the class of 1963 from Tecumseh High School.
She married Jimmie Dale Grundy on December 20, 1973 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Karen worked as an Insurance Agent in Oklahoma City for USF&G and retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
She was a member of Crown Heights Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Karen sang in the church choir and also taught Sunday school. She loved her NY Times, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and taking trips with her sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beulah Montgomery; brother, Jerry Montgomery; and sister, Glenda McCabe.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 4 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Laurie Smith of Oklahoma City OK, Angela and Kris Haley of La Porte, TX, Darlene Grundy and Maureen Grundy, both of Louisiana; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, James and Sharon Grundy and Kim and Edith Grundy of Louisiana; 7 grandchildren, Dean Earl Fitzgerald, Rachel Ann Crow, Candice Nicole Marshall, Aaron Christopher Marshall, Jimmy Wayne Grundy, Nick Grundy and Blake Grundy; 4 great-grandchildren, James Crow, Atlas Crow, Stone Crow and Basil Crow; 6 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law, Barbara Meador of Norman, OK, Marilyn Linduff of Hurst, TX, Vera and Allen Martin of Oklahoma City, OK, Ruth Boren of Hurst, TX, Doris and Ronnie Brockett of Ada, OK and Debbie and Mark Spruill of Chandler, OK; 1 brother and 1 sister-in-law, Bobby and Anita Montgomery of St. Louis, OK; sister-in-law, Debbie Montgomery; and many friends and extended family.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
