Kara Deann Arnett, age 50, longtime Shawnee resident, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
She was born August 10, 1973 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Bobby Desheilds and Venita (Cosper) Spoon.
Kara grew up in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh high school in 1991. She then Attended Platt College to receive her travel agent certification. In her later adult years she completed esthetician school to receive a certification.
She was a teaching assistant at North Rock Creek and South Rock Creek for several years. She then began her career in the dental field as an office manager and stayed in this position for over 20 years. In her later years she decided to make her love for skin care into a career and became an esthetician.
In Kara's high school years, she loved to hang out with friends, play tennis, and attend various sporting events. Kara enjoyed watching her kids play many different sports throughout the years and was there to support them in whatever they wanted to do. During her adult years she LOVED to travel and got to see so many wonderful places. She loved being active in any capacity, whether that was going on walks, hiking, attending workout classes etc....Kara loved being with her people and making memories with them.
She was a member at Sharon Baptist church and began attending this church as a child. She raised her two children at Sharon, setting an example and laying a foundation of the importance of the Gospel in their home. Kara helped teach Sunday school and many vacation bibles schools throughout the years. She shared often her faith and love for the Lord in her workplace and to all of her friends and family. Her faith and trust in the Lord never wavered even to the very end.
Kara is preceded in death by her mother, Venita Spoon; her grandparents, Darla Cosper, and Lilburn Cosper and her brother, Joel Spoon.
She is survived by two children, Kimrey Deann Arnett of Moore, and Jayce Neal Arnett of Norman; and two sisters, Cristi Naples and Barry Jr. of Shawnee, and April Serena and Bobby of Tecumseh.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at Sharon Baptist Church with Pastor Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
