Juanita Idell Megehee age 97 of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Monday, February 3, 2025.
She was born November 14, 1927 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to Lee and Lottie (Butler) Drain. Her family moved to Asher and Pearson as a child, and later to Tecumseh in 1949. She attended Romulus grade school and Macomb High School, where she was a basketball player.
Juanita married Douglas F. Megehee on November 08, 1946 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and they celebrated 54 years of marriage before his passing.
She was a longtime member of Sharon Baptist Church. She was a good caretaker to her husband. They loved to go to the lake and go fishing. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were an important part of her life.
Juanita is preceded in death by; her parents; her husband, Douglas Megehee; her grandson, Douglas Leroy Megehee; her sisters, Pauline Dutton, Lucille Day, Mary Quay and Ruby Hunt; her brothers, Calvin Drain, James Drain and Junior Drain.
Those left to cherish her memory are; son, Leroy Megehee and wife Kathy of Tecumseh; son, Pastor Dan Megehee and wife Tammy of Earlsboro; daughter, Linda Anderson of Shawnee; seven grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Thursday February 6, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home.
Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, February 7, 2025 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, Macomb, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
