Juanita Fay DeWeber, 93, lifelong resident of Tecumseh left this earth for her heavenly home on April 3, 2023.
She was born August 10, 1929 to Jewel and Ida Brooks the 2nd of 6 children.
In 1947 she met Floyd DeWeber where he was working at a garage with her father. Floyd left to go to school in Okmulgee but they continued to see each other for a courtship that lasted 3 or 4 years. The married on June 10, 1951 at the Freewill Baptist church in Tecumseh. To this union 3 children were born, Cathy, Glenda, and Eric.
Juanita enjoyed crafts and sewing but was most proud of her beautiful flowers. It gave her a great deal of pleasure when people would see her out in the yard and stop to compliment her on them. She loved God, family, friends and every child she ever met. Each had a special place in her heart. Many meals and celebrations were hosted in her home and everyone was welcome. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend and was always available to lend a hand whatever the need may be.
She and her husband Floyd always made Christmas a very special time for everyone. He would make a spectacular display in the yard and they would dress up as Mr. and Mrs. Santa. They enjoyed visiting with folks that stopped by and they loved passing out candy canes to the children no matter how cold it was. Then on Christmas Day, breakfast for everyone who cared to join them!
She worshiped and was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Tecumseh for many years.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 51 years Floyd DeWeber; parents, Ida and Jewel Brooks; brothers Charles, Gilbert, Wilbert, and Lonnie; and sister, Donna Brooks; and son-in-law, Dale Tilbury.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children and their families, Eric DeWeber and wife Shari of Tecumseh, Cathy Tilbury of Moore, Glenda and husband Danny Jolly of Pauls Valley; 6 grandchildren, Joshua Tilbury, Jeremy Tilbury, Sarah Westmoreland, Mendy Jolly, Amaris Atkins, Lacey Coley; 10 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, 2023 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church officiating.
