Johnny Franklin Keesee, born November 14, 1936, to Faye and Moyse Keesee in Wanette, Oklahoma passed away December 30, 2025, in Purcell, Oklahoma following a brief illness.
Johnny lived most of his life in the Wanette community. He attended East Central College for three years following high school graduation in 1955.
He was employed by Vaughn Production Company for several years and retired from the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture in 1998. He was honorably discharged from the Air National Guard of Oklahoma in 1965.
Johnny was always active in his local community, serving 33 years on the volunteer fire department. He served on the twelve-member State Highway 102 Association. He also served as an officer on the committee responsible for the transformation of the Streeter B. Flynn Bridge between Wanette & Byars. He was a member of the Wanette and Macomb Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and was a founding officer of the Wanette Flag Day Association.
One of his favorite activities throughout his life was taking care of his cattle
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents Faye and Moyse; sisters Dellia Duncan and Gelene Shannon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his lovely wife, Gail; nieces, Chiquita Duncan Charlotte Effinger and Janna Jarman; nephews, Jeff Shannon, Garold, Dwayne and Don Duncan; several great nieces and nephews.
Johnny was a God-fearing man and was a very loving and generous man throughout his life. He always cared for his family and friends before himself. May he rest in the Lords gracious peace.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday January 5, 2026, at Wanette under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
