Johnathan Edd Terry

Our family was blessed with the birth of Johnathan Edd Terry on July 15, 1997, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and saddened beyond words when he returned to his Lord on December 26, 2020, at his home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Johnathan's parents, Danny W. and Winnifreda (Lolo) Terry shared him with a large family.

Grandparents, Shirley and the late Franklin G. Talley of Tecumseh, Kathy and the late Clifton D. Terry Jr. of Tuttle, and Vibina and the late Godofredo Lolo of the Philippines. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Oklahoma, Texas, and the Philippines. More friends, classmates, fellow athletes and mentors than we could list.

Johnathan had a warm, welcoming smile, eyes that captivated your heart and his presence captured your soul.

Johnathan lived life to its fullest while attending school in Mexico and in Oklahoma. Graduating from Tecumseh High School in 2016, he then attended Seminole State College and Rose State College.

He excelled in everything he put his mind to. Tae Kwon Do was his passion, having been state champion in Nayarit and Jalisco, Mexico, and won the national championship.  He moved to Oklahoma to live, study and practice Tae Kwon Do under Maestro Juan Francisco Fraire. He earned the Oklahoma and Texas state championships and qualified for the Olympic trials. He was an accomplished horseman. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Visitation with the family will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Memorial services for Johnathan will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Danny ElKouri, Word Alive Church, Lawton, OK officiating.  Please join the celebration of Johnathan’s life through Cooper Funeral Home’s Facebook page for live streaming of the service.
