Jimmy Allen "Jim" Pope

Jimmy (Jim) Allen Pope was chosen by God at the age of 79 at his home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma on Friday, November 15, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born on December 1, 1944, to Ray and Vella (Johnson) Pope in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Preceding him in death are his parents Ray and Vella Pope, 1 sister Raevella Friesen (Pope), 2 brothers Ray and Larry Pope.

Jim is survived by 1 sister, Carole Kirkpatrick, 1 daughter, Angela Kay Pope, 1 son and daughter-in-law, Brian Allen Pope and Sonja Heather Gill; 4 grandchildren, Aslyn Rae Pope, Brian (Sage) Pope and Emily Paige Loman, Logan Elizabeth Pope; 2 great grandchildren, Brian (Ridge) Pope, Lakelyn Fern Pope; and other extended family and friends.

Jim worked and retired from Fred Jones as a welder. He was a faithful OU fan and enjoyed watching sports with family and friends. Oklahoma was his home!

Visitation will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2024 and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home with family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and family.  Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Tecumseh Cemetery Pavilion with Reverend Larry Sparks officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
