Jerry Laney

Jerry Laney, 76, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, passed away suddenly Thursday, August 29, 2024. 

Jerry was born in Hamilton Ohio on February 24, 1948 to Mary and Frank Laney. He was raised there with his 4 siblings. 

Jerry met the love of his life, Mary Sams, and they married on March 13, 1976. They moved to Oklahoma together with their 5 children. 

Jerry dedicated much of his life to being a devoted husband and father. He worked in maintenance most of his life and took pride in being a provider.

He mostly enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed spending his free time listening to music, working on old cars or just spending time with his family and friends sitting around the table, playing a deck of cards.

He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife Mary Laney; parents; two sons, David Lee Riley, and Barney Riley. 

Survivors include son, Wallace Greene (Cora); two daughters, Lee Hanley (James); Beverly Helms (Gary); sister, Joan Laney Robinson, and Sheila Laney Tipton (Hershel); two brothers, Harry Laney, and Jim Laney; brother-in-law, Ronald Robinson; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 2, 2024 and continue at 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel in Tecumseh, Oklahoma with Brother Clint officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
