Jerry Cosper Obituary

Jerry Cosper, 61, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 in Shawnee.

He was born June 13, 1960 to Lilburn and Darla (Melton) Cosper in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Jerry grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma until his family moved to Tecumseh when he was in Middle School.  He graduated with the class of 1978 from Tecumseh High School.  Jerry was a talented bricklayer and won 1st place at the annual state apprentice contest held in conjunction with the state conference of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen on the campus of Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech.  He has lived in the Tecumseh area since.

Jerry and Lori’s path crossed again after high school on December 25, 2008 and he and Lori Ann Kirk were married on May 3, 2011.

Jerry retired from Eaton as a machinist after 21 years of service and continued his machinist career at Tinker Air Force Base, for the last 12 years.

He enjoyed and loved fishing, the outdoors, hunting, and playing golf.  Jerry was an avid OU Sooners, Baker Mayfield and Cleveland Brown fan.  He also enjoyed tinkering around and building stuff.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Darla Cosper; and sister, Venita Spoon.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lori Cosper of the home; son, James and Cassi Cosper of Tecumseh, OK; 3 daughters, Sharla and Andrew Kincaid of Meeker, OK, Taylor and Terrance Embrey of Norman, OK and Shawna Nash of Midwest City, OK; 11 grandkids, Makala, Bryscon, Wyatt, Elijah, Patience, Jeremiah, Camren, Alexa, Caleb, Kinsey and Serenity; his father, Lilburn Cosper of Tecumseh, OK;  2 sisters, Gloria and Rex Elmore of Shawnee, OK and Jeanne and Rick Henthorn of Tecumseh, OK; mother-in-law, Mary Smith of Shawnee, OK; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm., Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Living Love Christian Center in Shawnee with Pastor Mark Guinn officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
