Jenny Lou Elisabetta Adkison

Jenny Lou Elisabetta Jones Adkison, age 75, of Shawnee, OK, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022 in Shawnee.

Jenny was born in Chaumont, France, March 7, 1947 to Lewis C. and Lina P. (Piccini) Jones, while her father was stationed there with the Army.  Her mother was Italian and the family lived in Europe and Plattsburgh, New York until they relocated to Shawnee in the early 1960s. 

She attended St Benedict’s School, and then Shawnee High School where she graduated in 1966. 

She married John Adkison in 1970 and traveled the world as a military wife.  She completed a Bachelor of Business degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1992. 

At her retirement she was a logistics manager for the Air Force Supply Wing. 

She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church and could often be found at vespers at St. Gregory's Monastery.

She was preceded in death by her son, Shawn Adkison, Esq.; her sister, JoAnn; and her brother, Lewis. 

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dee Jones; nieces and a nephew: Casey, Grace, Jennifer and Brian. 

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at Calvary Cemetery, Shawnee, OK with Father Joseph P Schwarz of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has designated The Wounded Warrior Project, support.woundedwarriorproject.org, or The Pottawatomie County Animal Shelter, 1900 W. Independence, Shawnee, OK 74801 as appropriate for memorials.
