Jayne H. Pope, age 88, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in Yukon, Oklahoma.
She was born February 13, 1936 in Hartsville, Tennessee to George and Bertha (Gammon) Hughes.
Jayne married the love of her life, Charlie R. Pope Sr. on March 11, 1961 in Ozark, Alabama.
She attended OBU in 1981.
Jayne was a lifetime member of VFW and American Legion. She enjoyed traveling with her husband overseas from 1967-1971.
She worked as a dietician at Sunset nursing home for 30 years.
Jayne was a proud member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertha Hughes; husband, Charlie Pope Sr.; sons, William Boyd Pope, Randy Wayne Pope and George Pryor; sister, France Wilburn; and brother, Walter Hughes.
Survivors include her son, Charlie and Barbra Pope of Macomb, OK and their 4 children and 11 grandchildren; daughters, Bev and Chris Chandler of Yukon, OK and their 3 children and 3 grandchildren; Jeanniece Pope and Tracy Black of Asher, OK and their 4 children and 5 grandchildren; April and Patrick Boggs of Shawnee, OK and their 2 children, Tara Jayne and Clay Blevins and their 3 children of Moore, OK; and other extended family and friends.
The Family has designated Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Tecumseh, OK as appropriate for memorials in lieu of flowers.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday July 12, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Tecumseh with Reverend Mack Peercy of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church Tecumseh officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
