Jared Alan Hazelwood, age 30, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023.
He was born June 25, 1993 to Richard and Nanette (Factor) Hazelwood in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Jared grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma with a large loving close-knit family and an even bigger community of friends. He relocated to Edmond after high school where he studied and found his future endeavors. He remained in Edmond while he started his career and built his network but spent his final year of life living in Ada with his love, Jodie Smith and her son Raiden Smith.
Jared began his education at Grove School and attended Shawnee High School where he loved sports & the village of relationships that grew from that time with the graduating class of 2012. He went to study at the University of Central Oklahoma. Post College he was inspired to pursue his passions for hair at Central Oklahoma Barber College where he received his cosmetology certification.
Jared spent much time growing up exploring sports, loved baseball, and enjoyed being in the gym… something he continued to do with not only friends; but also instilled that in kids around him throughout his life. He loved to teach people things and build others up around him to make them feel better about themselves. That’s why he became a barber to give more confidence to people and make them feel good when they looked in the mirror.
He was passionate about animals (loved walking his dog Gucci) and loved cooking for friends and family. He always wanted those around him to feel safe and loved. Family time was his happy place. He was one of the kindest souls with contagious and charming energy who gave his whole heart to everything he did. He didn’t know how to not love hard, a favorite quality for all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Emmit Hazelwood; grandfather, Eastman Factor; and maternal grandmother Winona Factor.
Jared is survived by his father, Richard Hazelwood of Shawnee, OK; his mother, Nanette (Factor) Hazelwood of Shawnee, OK; sister, Krista Hazelwood and her husband Matteo Carletti of Los Angeles, CA; brothers, Patrick Factor and wife Andrea Garcia of Oklahoma City, OK, John Kelly McGann of Oklahoma City, OK and Connor McGann of Del City, OK; grandmother, Barbara Jane (Brooks) Hazelwood of Shawnee, OK; and many other extended family and friends.
