James Wayne "J.W." Wilson

James Wayne “J.W.” Wilson, 50, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 in Shawnee. 

He was born April 30, 1972 to Harold Wayne Wilson and Joyce Ann (Beal) Wilson Roberts in Claremore, Oklahoma. 

J.W. was in raised in Meeker, Oklahoma and graduated from Meeker High School.  He lived most of his life in Sparks, the Shawnee area and was currently a resident of the Johnson community. 

J.W. worked as a roofer for many years before retiring. 

He was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.  J.W. enjoyed driving around, motorcycles, riding horses, going to concerts, vising with strangers and people in general.  J.W. was good natured and always ended a conversation with “have a Blessed Day.” He loved being with kids and grandkids and always looked for the good in everybody. 

He was preceded in death his father, Wayne Wilson; step-father, Glen “Pa” Roberts; sister, Penny Wilson; and brother, Kenny Webb. 

Survivors include his mother, Joyce Ann Roberts of Shawnee; stepmother, Jeanie Wilson of Shawnee; daughters, Savannah Wilson of Pink and Faith Wilson of Chandler; sond, Mitchell Wilson of Tecumseh and Cameron Allen; sisters, Angela Whited, Carla and Gabe Parker; brothers, Tim Roberts, Tony Webb and Scooter Webb; grandchildren, Mason Wilson, Hunter Wilson and Gavin Wilson; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2022 and continue through service time.  Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Galen Greenwalt, Earlsboro Indian Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. Horseshoe Bend Community Building will be open after the service to drop off food for the family.
